Disaster Response Training and Preparedness

We serve with supervisory command during county-wide disasters.

West Georgia Ambulance actively trains with other Carroll County agencies under the oversight of the Carroll County Emergency Management Agency, a division of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, in the event of a county-wide emergency or disaster.

Our vital training and preparedness roles include testing and maintaining equipment, testing and updating emergency plans and procedures, coordinating drills and exercises, and providing emergency preparedness resources to the public. Along with Emergency Management, we work with law enforcement, fire/rescue, public works, public schools, public health, nonprofits, municipalities and business owners.

A representative of West Georgia Ambulance also staffs Carroll County’s Emergency Operations Center, when activated, to serve as supervisory command personnel. In this role, we help coordinate and manage response to large-scale disasters by prioritizing emergency calls.

Preparing Providers for Excellent in Every Emergency

West Georgia Ambulance is committed to delivering exceptional emergency medical services across the region. A key part of that mission is our Training and Continuing Education Program, which ensures that every provider — from EMTs to paramedics — upholds the highest standards of clinical excellence, operational readiness and professional conduct.

Our program combines evidence-based education, hands-on skills development and scenario-based learning to prepare providers for the full range of prehospital emergencies. With a focus on patient safety, continuous improvement and clinical quality, we equip every member of our team to deliver care that meets or exceeds state and national EMS standards.
