West Georgia Ambulance is here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When it’s an emergency, you can depend on us to deliver advanced life support and critical care from wherever you are to the hospital.

We’re also here for you when you need non-emergency services, including medical transport, home wellness visits after your hospital discharge, and medical support during sports and other local events.

911 Emergency Ambulance Services
As Carroll County’s 911 provider, you can depend on us.

West Georgia Ambulance has served Carroll County as its trusted 911 provider for nearly half a century. We deliver basic, intermediate and advanced life support and critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across 502 square miles.

By working closely with the 24-hour emergency departments at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica and Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, we offer a more comprehensive, compassionate and integrated approach to care, from the field to the hospital bedside.

Our care approach is supported by:

  • Six county EMS stations — located in Bowdon, Clem, north Carrollton, south Carrollton, Temple and Villa Rica — to maximize timely response
  • A minimum of one EMT and one paramedic for all emergency calls
  • A fleet of 14 vehicles, including Mercedes Sprinter and Ford F-350 ambulances to perform 911 emergency scene transfers and inter-hospital patient transfers

Non-Emergency Medical Transport
We deliver safe medical transfers.

We provide medical transport services during non-emergency situations for patients who must be moved by stretcher.

We transport patients following hospital discharge or to tests, scans, treatments for cancer and similar medical needs. We also provide transportation between Tanner’s hospitals and assist in patient transport for Willowbrooke at Tanner. (Unfortunately, we are unable to transport patients for routine physician appointments.)

Non-emergency medical transport services are by appointment only. Please call 770-832-9689.

Community Paramedicine
We care about your health at home after you leave the hospital.

When patients go home from any Tanner Health System hospital, they don’t go home alone. Through the community paramedicine program, West Georgia Ambulance EMTs schedule a home health visit to every patient within two days of discharge.

EMTs are part of the patient’s medical care team and are trained in primary care, disease management and more. They can perform medical assessments, review discharge instructions, help schedule follow-up appointments, or answer other questions about medications or follow-up care.

The community paramedicine program offered by West Georgia Ambulance and Tanner is all part of a safer, more comfortable transition home for patients. It also helps patients better manage their health care at home and reduces the risk of hospital readmission.

Sports Coverage
On the field or off, you can turn to us.

West Georgia Ambulance provides support to athletic trainers as well as emergency care if needed at Carroll County high school football games in compliance with Georgia High School Association rules.

We also support other major county sporting events, including state cross country meets, baseball tournaments and home games for the University of West Georgia.

Our EMTs and paramedics assist in moving injured players off the field, offer further evaluations if needed, as well as emergency care and transport for players or attendees.
